St. John’s Bread & Life, in partnership with Urban Justice, extends a valuable on-site legal services program to the community, catering to individuals and families facing legal challenges often associated with poverty and homelessness. This collaborative effort empowers clients by providing them with legal advice and advocacy, ultimately striving to improve their access to justice and enhance their overall well-being.

List of General Services Provided
- SNAP (Food Stamps) problems
- Public Assistance (Cash Assistance or Welfare) problems
- Fair hearings for SNAP and PA
- CityFHEPS and FHEPS problems
- Support for people who are homeless in shelters or on the street, including:
- Assistance with obtaining shelter beds for people who are street homeless
- Help obtaining a CityFHEPS or other housing voucher for people who are on the street or in shelter
- Advocacy for people who are homeless and have secured an apartment and need help getting DHS or HRA to process the paperwork
- We can also provide referrals for other types of legal issues
